Installation and Execution

Jupiter Analytics is distributed as a ready-to-run Docker image. Download the launcher for your operating system and run it. The launcher checks dependencies, downloads the container image, creates the local model storage directory, and opens the application in your browser.

Download Launchers

Choose how the launcher selects a version, then download the file for your operating system:

  • Automatic updates (recommended): The launcher checks Docker Hub for the latest stable version each time it starts.
  • Specific version: Select a version to use the same image for repeatable experiments.
  • Interactive terminal: Choose a version from a list when you run the launcher.
Installation optionsRecommended

Windows
Automatically updated (v1.10.0+)
Linux / macOS
Automatically updated script
./run-linux-mac.sh
Download run-linux-mac.sh

Windows

  1. Download the ZIP file above.
  2. Extract both files (run-windows.bat and run-windows.ps1) to the same folder.
  3. Double-click run-windows.bat.
  4. If Windows asks to install WSL 2, allow it. If a reboot is required, the launcher will resume after you sign in again with the same account.
  5. On first launch, Docker Desktop may ask you to accept its license agreement.

Linux or macOS

Download run-linux-mac.sh, open a terminal in its directory, and run the command shown by the selector. For automatic updates, use:

bash
chmod +x run-linux-mac.sh
./run-linux-mac.sh

Where your models are saved

Your models are stored in Documents/JupiterModels in your user directory. The container keeps running in the background after you close the terminal and restarts with Docker. To stop it, run docker stop jupiter-mono (add sudo on Linux if Docker requires it).

Troubleshooting

Windows keeps prompting to reboot: Open PowerShell in your user account and run:

powershell
reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce" /v JupiterAnalyticsSetup /f

Then download the ZIP again, extract both files to the same folder, and run run-windows.bat. The current launcher attempts to resume after one reboot. If WSL 2 is still unavailable, it reports an error instead of restarting again.

Docker fails to start: Open Docker Desktop on Windows or macOS and complete any pending setup. On Linux, check the Docker service with sudo systemctl status docker.

Port collision: The launcher selects an available port for the web interface. Ports 3001 (API) and 8080 (engine) must be free; if they are in use, stop the conflicting processes and run the launcher again.
